The Clearfield Storytelling Festival is set for Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Clearfield Community Arts Center, 140 E Center Street in Clearfield. This is the 12th year running for the festival, which will feature performance art and stories from northern Utah’s finest novice and professional storytellers. The Storytelling Festival is a free, all-ages event. The Festival’s performers will treat the audience to original poetry, tall tales, musical storytelling, and personal stories.
“The storyteller paints a picture with words, and the listener creates that picture in their mind,” said Storytelling Festival organizer Laurie Allen. “The magic happens in between.”
Aspiring storytellers – professionals and newcomers alike – are welcome to submit an application to Allen at funnygrandma258@yahoo.com.
“The Clearfield Storytelling Festival gives fledgling tellers a change to try their wings. They go on to do amazing things,” Allen said.
