Snow Removal and
Winter Parking

Main roads or arterial streets are plowed first. Secondary and residential routes are plowed as time and storm duration permits. Cul-de-sacs and dead end roads are plowed last.

Winter parking hours begin November 15 of each year until the last day in February of the next year. It is unlawful to park any vehicle on any publicly maintained street between the hours of twelve o’clock (12:00) midnight and five o’clock (5:00) a.m. of any day. At all other times of the year, it is also illegal to park any vehicle in the same location on any street for a continuing period of time exceeding seventy-two (72) hours. (Clearfield City Code 7-3-22 (C) ILLEGAL PARKING, Same Location; Hours Restricted instructs: Ord. 01-04, 3-26-2002).

Per ordinance 8-1-2, it is the responsibility of the property owner and occupant of any real property with frontage along a public sidewalk to maintain the property to the curb line of the street. All sidewalks adjacent to the property must be kept free of obstructions which include (but are not limited to) snow, ice, weeds and other debris. Remove snow from sidewalks within 24 hours following a snowstorm. Remember, do not blow or shovel snow off your driveways and sidewalks into the street.

Remove garbage cans from the curbside as soon as possible after trash removal. Do not leave basketball standards overhanging the curb; they are in danger of being damaged by the plow or spraying snow. Cut
all trees that overhang the curb to a height of 14 feet above the roadway.
