IMPORTANT WATER CONSERVATION NOTICE
WATER CONSERVATION UPDATE (7/3, 4 P.M.)
Great news, Clearfield! Our water tanks are back to sustainable levels. You may now resume regular outdoor watering activities.
Thank you for doing your part to conserve! Your actions gave the city time to make critical repairs and avoid pressure changes or shortages.
City crews were able to fix one of the water pumps today. The fixed pump, your conservation efforts, other water system adjustments, and Syracuse City’s actions have made this possible.
Critical repairs to our water pumps are now complete, and we anticipate the remaining repairs will be complete soon.
Thanks for your help and have a fantastic Fourth of July!
—Clearfield City

WATER CONSERVATION UPDATE (7/2, 4 P.M.)
Thanks to your conservation efforts the water level in our tanks is improving. We’re in a better situation than yesterday; thanks for doing your part!
Outdoor watering may now resume in a limited capacity. Please reduce your regular outdoor watering duration by half until further notice (e.g., if you normally water for 20 minutes, water for 10 minutes instead).
City crews have improved water flow into our tanks. Syracuse City is also helping by reducing the amount of water they pull from our shared tank and increasing the amount they pump from their own wells. These factors combined with your conservation have made this reduced outdoor watering possible.
However, pump damage was greater than expected and we are waiting for replacement parts. We anticipate having one pump operational by the end of the day tomorrow (7/3). Full repairs could take a week or longer to complete. Please continue watering at half duration until further notice.
—Clearfield City
Additional information:
- On hot summer days, Clearfield’s water use is four times higher than in cooler months due to outdoor watering, (not because of high-density housing).
- Most of Clearfield uses culinary water for outdoor use, with few exceptions. Those with culinary water need to reduce their outdoor watering duration.
- Until more repairs have been made, the public will be asked to continue limiting their outdoor water use.
- The city’s pumps are not operating due to electrical problems. Those problems became critical over the past several days as the weather got hotter and water consumption increased. Thanks to your efforts, water levels are improving—please keep conserving!

IMPORTANT WATER CONSERVATION NOTICE
Clearfield City is urging all residents to refrain from using sprinklers tonight and tomorrow morning (and possibly longer).
Electrical issues at city water pumps, combined with high water usage during excessive heat, have put the city at risk of draining its water reserves.
We urge residents to pause outdoor watering to allow our water tanks time to refill. Indoor water use remains safe and acceptable, but any outdoor water use adds significant demand on the system and could lead to shortages or pressure loss.
City crews are working quickly to bring in a specialized electrician to repair the pump systems. In the meantime, your cooperation is essential.
Thank you for helping us conserve our community’s water supply.
