With election season just around the corner we thought we would give you a rundown of how the elections will operate this year.
The City is holding elections for Mayor and two City Council Seats. There is one candidate for Mayor and four candidates for the City Council seats. The candidates’ information can be found on the elections portion of the City website.
You must register to vote to participate in the elections. Registration can be completed online at vote.utah.gov or you can register in the office of the county clerk. Voter register must be completed no later than by Friday, October 22, 2021.
Ballots will be mailed by October 12 (21 days prior to the general election scheduled for Tuesday, November 2). You should expect to receive your ballot shortly thereafter. Ballots may be filled out and postmarked by November 1, 2021 or returned in person at a voting center on election day November 2, 2021 to ensure they will be counted.
By Mail – Once you receive your ballot it may be mailed back anytime from that point. The envelope has prepaid postage and will not require a stamp, but must be postmarked by Monday, November 1 to be counted.
Drop Box – A secure drop box will be at the North Davis Senior Center located at 42 South State Street, Clearfield for you to return your ballot anytime. The last day to place your ballots in the drop box is Monday, November 1, 2021.
Voting Center – If you have registered late and did not receive a mail in ballot, or simply want the old fashioned experience of a polling station, you may vote on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Clearfield City Hall or any other designated voting center in Davis County from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
