Prolific Fitness – 772 East 700 South

A shared love of health and fitness, along with a desire to help others improve their overall health, was enough motivation for Ron Beard and Nate Yeaman, who met while serving in the U.S. Air Force, to open Prolific Fitness 24/7. They wanted to open a business that allowed them to serve their community and provide a health club that really cares about the community’s overall health. In the last year, Paul Card joined the ownership team and he too grew up in the local community with a passion for health and wellness.

Prolific Fitness has 4 separate exercise areas with a large variety of fitness equipment. The cardio area provides treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, rowing machines, and stair mills. Also offered is a large variety of free weights, circuit machines, functional training equipment, heavy dumbbells and tanning. An enclosed classroom area is available for group classes, personal training or to utilize functional training equipment such as battle ropes, wall balls, TRX suspension bands and other cross training style pieces. Prolific Fitness 24/7 has everything needed for a total body fitness experience or if your seeking personal training services.

“We designed this place to allow everyone to feel comfortable, no matter what their fitness level may be,” said Beard. “Members have said that they feel more comfortable working out at Prolific Fitness than they do at any other health club.”

Members have 24/7 keypad access, which allows them to workout on their time. Memberships are available in SilverFit, GoldFit, or Platinum packages starting at only $25 per month with various discounts available. The Platinum package is the best value, which offers members a monthly choice between (1) 60 minute Swedish Massage, a container of sports supplements or (2) 60 minute personal training sessions. Curves – 129 S. State Street, #150

Curves is a ‘women only’ fitness and health program. Members can come anytime during operating hours and move through the Curves’ circuit two times, equaling 30-minutes, working at their own level, at their own pace. Members spend 30-seconds at each station in the circuit, alternating between aerobicizing and working their muscle to exhaustion on the equipment, such as the leg press, hip abductor, squats, pectoral deck, and biceps/triceps machine.

Owner Becky Lindsay has been a water aerobics instructor for Clearfield City for almost 20 years. As a result of injuries partly due to a fall, Becky began to look for exercise programs that would allow her to stay fit, yet not tax her joints.

“A Curves workout and water aerobics are similar in that they are the only two exercises that apply strength training and aerobics at the same time,” Becky explained. “A 30-minute work out at Curves works every major muscle group and includes strength training with hydraulic resistance as well as sustained cardiovascular activity. Our hydraulic equipment, designed especially for women, allows for more fluid motion and provides a positive-positive resistance, as opposed to stacked weights, which use negative resistance and poses up to an 85% chance of injury for women.”

Memberships begin at $30. For more information call 801.779.2533, visit online or stop by the facility today.
